  • SPECIFICATIONS

    Colour: Cinnamon and orange
A short kalidar and gharara in various shades of cinnamon and flame-orange. The delicately rendered artworks show an interesting mix of sacred geometry and stylised florals derived from a melange of archival textiles- 18th century Pichhwais, Oriental textiles from the 19th century and Persian carpets as well as Mughal architecture details. The motifs are wrought using kasab-dori marodi ka kaam, resham zardozi, sequins, pearls and semi precious stones. It is paired with a traditional odhna that is replete with an all over “patasha-butti” jaal inspired from a vintage archival textile and rendered using sucha gota, kachi patti and pittah ka kaam.

  • INSPIRATION STORY

    SHARARA

“The Eclectic Wanderer” is a tale of travel and transcendence, a yearning of the soul for a long lost home to which one cannot return, which may never was, woven through the language of Motifs-some lost and rediscovered…and some re-imagined. It invokes the essence of a bohemian free-spirited traveler on a perpetual soul searching journey, traversing across a myriad cultures and landscapes picking up Motifs of reminiscence along the way, each reflecting various moods and fascinations en route, ingrained in a sense of pathos and melancholy, of longing and desire, of hope, freedom and rediscovery, of losing one’s “own” to regain the “self” in the process.
