KURTA The Kārawān collection draws inspiration from folk arts and textile crafts found in far flung tribal belts spread across the undivided Indian sub-continent and is a functional prêt line with each garment being a journey on its own, having its own story that comes with subtle twists and surprises. The collection hearkens back to the glory days of the erstwhile princely states of Patiala, Kapurthala, Gujranwala, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, Oudh, Kashmir and Sindhh. Various techniques and elements are juxtaposed over one another in each ensemble yet there is a sense of harmony and balance that renders the collection with a certain aura of ease and timelessness.

Colour: Butterscotch/Fawn
A butterscotch hued silk georgette kurta paired with silk pants. The base print of the set is derived and recreated from a mid 19th century resist-dyed cotton fragment, while the embroideries are referenced from an archival abha (robe) and rendered using kasab-dori and resham marodi ka kaam, sequins and pearls. The look is completed with an embroidered silk dupatta.
